Attorney General Reveals Probe into Trump Adversaries and Epstein Connections

On Friday, the Attorney General assigned Jay Clayton to lead an investigation into political adversaries of the President and their connections with Jeffrey Epstein. This decision came hours after Trump ordered her to initiate the investigation.

During an announcement, Bondi commended Jay Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. She remarked, “As with all matters, the department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”

This development contrasts with a July memo from justice department officials which indicated that the Epstein files did not warrant additional investigations. As per the memo, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

Trump Demands Scrutiny of Political Opponents in Epstein Matter

The announcement coincides with growing demands from Trump on congressional Republicans to oppose the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents before an key congressional decision in the coming days. Several lawmakers are anticipated to back the disclosure.

Newly public emails from Epstein have brought attention to Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, including details that he was more aware of Epstein’s actions than earlier acknowledged.

That same day, Trump declared he would direct the DOJ to investigate Epstein’s ties with Democrats, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
